BREAKING NEWS: DeMarcus Cousins Traded to the Pelicans
Cousins is one of the most dominant centers in the league. At 6ft 11in, he averages 20+ points and 10 rebounds per game. After he was drafted from Kansas, Cousins has been playing on the Sacramento Kings for 7 years (2010-2017). With the Kings, Cousins never achieved to make the team a real playoff contender, as good as he was. Over the years he had some stars with him on the team such as Rajon Rondo, who played with the Celtics and won a championship. But, Rondo wasn’t in his prime and didn’t play as good as he usually does on the Kings. A big thing Cousins is known for is his temper. He is at a league-high 17 technical fouls. With that, he got fined $25,000 for making rude statements.
After the 2017 All-Star Game, Cousins heard the news that he had just been traded to the Pelicans to play with Anthony Davis. Anthony Davis is another center and All-Star who was a big MVP contender a couple years ago. For Cousins, the Pelicans gave up Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, and a first and second round pick in the 2017 draft.
Will adding DeMarcus Cousins to the Pelican roster make the team a true playoff contender? Or will his temper break the team down? Write your thoughts and reactions in the comments below.
