Dwyane Wade is done for the season due to elbow fracture. This happened when the Bulls went up against the Grizzlies in the 4th quarter.
Dwyane Wade on the Bulls
After 13 seasons with Miami, Dwyane went to his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls. In his first season with the Bulls, he was averaging 18.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. This scoring average for him is the lowest since he was a rookie. But, currently, he is shooting 31% from the three, making this season his second best ever in 3 point percentage. With Wade on the Bulls, he has brought them to the 10th seed in the East. They are close to getting the eighth seed, with their 33 wins and 35 losses, but Detroit and Miami are ahead. Sadly, the Bulls have lost 6 out of their last 7 games, implementing that they aren’t looking like they are going to make playoffs. For the Bulls, Wade acted like a veteran and tried to teach guys like Butler. “Hoiberg said that Wade’s injury does not change the immediate goal to make the playoffs and there was no plan to rest other veterans like Butler down the stretch.
What’s going to happen without Dwyane Wade?
As bad as things have gone, the Bulls are right on the heels of Miami and Detroit, both at 33-35, for the eighth seed.” (http://www.nba.com/article/2017/03/16/dwyane-wade-out-season-chicago-bulls-elbow-fracture) “It’s not the way I would’ve written it,” Wade told reporters after the injury was announced. “But it is what it is.” Now that Wade is injured he has an option to opt out of the Bulls this summer. He says he is highly unlikely he will pass on a 23 million dollar deal. “They still have a good team,” he said. “It’s unfortunate that the injury took place. … You have to somehow rally the troops and make it work the best that you can as an organization. Obviously, they have a tall order at hand with him out, but they still can win games.”
