Joakim Noah, the center for the New York Knicks, is suspended 20 games for violating the NBA’s, anti-drug program.
This was verified on Saturday, March 25th, by the NBA.
Noah tested positive for an over-the-counter supplement that is prohibited under the outgoing Collective Bargaining Agreement, league sources said. (http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources-nba-suspends-knicks-center-joakim-noah-20-games-for-violating-anti-drug-program-055716437.html)
According to the NBPA, Noah didn’t willingly violate the policy. Also, they said he completely cooperated with the league.
League sources say Noah will take his suspension into the 2017-2018 NBA season. As he will not play the last 10 games in this season, and won’t play the first 10 games in the next season.
Future for Joakim Noah?
Currently, the 32-year-old center is injured, as he underwent knee surgery on February 27. He has not run or conditioned since then.
After leaving the Chicago Bulls as a free agent, he signed with the Knicks for a 4-year $72 million contract, he has not put up the numbers to match that deal. This season he averaged only 5 points! But, he partly made up for that by grabbing an average of 8.7 rebounds per game. These numbers come from the 46 games he played this season.
