Milwaukee Bucks center Gren Monroe, along with Lakers‘, Diangelo Russel and Nick Young all got ejected that game. The reason was because of a shoving fracas. With 36 seconds left in the third quarter, Malcolm Brogdon from Milwaukee, gave Young a hard foul. Young got mad and pushed Brogdon. Brogdon’s teammate, Gren Monroe stood up for Brogdon and pushed Young back. Then, Laker’s Russell stood up for Young and pushed Monroe back. Suddenly, every player on the court joined and were all in one big circle pushing each other. The result was ejecting Monroe, Russell, and Young.
Lakers‘ Head Coach, Luke Walton’s Response
Luke Walton, the head coach of the Lakers was furious in the ejection call handed to Diangelo Russell. Apparently, Russell got ejected for, “escalating the situation”. What really happened was Monroe pushed Nick Young by the neck and Russell responded by giving Monroe a shove on the back. Walton was confused how a shove on the back resulted in an ejection, compared to a push on Young’s throat. Walton also got mad that employees of the Bucks came on the court during the situation and pushed Lakers’ players out. His response was, “Don’t touch my damn players. Because if that’s ok, then I’m sure we can find a couple people who want that job and work for the Lakers.”
The final score was 107-103, with the Lakers on the losing side. Giannis Antetokounmpo had an amazing night, scoring 26 points with a field goal percentage of 68%! With that, he also dished out 8 assists. It was a great game to watch, as Lakers’ Young and Ingram each had amazing posters.
